What began at the kitchen table with my brother slowly grew into my way of looking at the world. We drew comics and invented stories. In primary school, I submitted a comic to the VPRO Gids and experienced for the first time what image and story can evoke in others.
Fascinated by the productive power of failure, I created my first work. In discarded materials, I found the basis for an interactive experience.
Alongside my autonomous practice, I worked as a designer of interactive children’s exhibitions. I was looking for a way to bring these worlds together. From that search, my first project emerged in which everything came together: a literal homecoming.
The work, placed a hundred metres from my childhood home, relates both to the cyclical nature of social issues and to my own family history.
